What are we without our memories?  I rarely paint using any specific reference material.  I tend to recall moments and memories and try to recreate the feeling using a mix of gestural marks, colour and details over many layers.  This blend of abstract mixed with a little bit of reality is the personal style I have worked over the years to achieve.  This contemporary mix of landscapes inspired by my time here in Spain and some from a long time ago in the UK offers a glimpse into nature, its light and character perhaps with a little human element here and there.
