The art of keeping a vegetable garden here is sadly dying out. Most are tended by the ageing generation. I have fond memories of my Grandad´s garden, full of life, flowers and of course, vegetables. He tended it like it was something very precious. Weeding and watering until it was time to enjoy the fruits of his labours. During the summer, it is so very hot here. The merry band of vegetable gardeners work in the early hours of morning to avoid the scorching temperatures. This painting is my way of capturing that moment when the work is done and the sun rises above the valley. The earthy green tones work well agains the warmer red orange and yellows. There is so much going on, it has a story to tell and you, the reader will enjoy exploring this lovely painting from corner to corner. There is much to see whilst room for you imagination in the more abstract sections of the painting.
