100 x 100cm acrylic, pastel and charcoal on canvas completed 2026.
This abstract is a much more moodier piece in my collection of landscape paintings. Bold marks stand out against more muted grey/purples, blues and sea green. The statement sweeping brushmark travels across the whole painting and it is this mark that inspired the title and helped to shape the overall composition. Hints of boats rocking and a little village give a feel of a coastal location. A little light gives hope of what could be on the other side of the current unsettled weather. It feels very appropriate and is a good reflection of our world right now. Its unsettling but I am always hopeful that something good comes from discomfort and change.
This is a large painting on stretched canvas. It is framed in a hand painted wooden floating frame finished in satin antique off-white with a small shadow gap.
