This soulful face captivates the viewer and provokes good conversation. Who is she? What is her life story? She has such warmth and calm serenity in her gentle smile. The slightly abstracted style mixing soft and hard edges combined with a more earth palette adds a sense of movement as if she is a little out of focus. This draws the attention to the eyes whilst a pop of brighter colours such as the pink really bring the whole painting together. She is very, very special.
