It´s very difficult to put into words what this painting means to me. I had the closest relationship with my father and this work is my attempt to capture the love and closeness between a father and daughter. I know that it does not happen for everyone, but making connections with the ones we love are the most important things we do as human beings. There is a softness and the hint of a quiet conversation going on as they slowly make their way home. I see pride in the fathers smile and such sensitivity. She holds total trust in her eyes and that innocence of youth. I´m sure you will see and feel your own stories and I hope that this painting helps you to connect with some happy memories of those who are most important to you too.
This is a classic example of my personal style mixing abstract marks with recognisable elements to draw the eye in. Acrylic and collage on stretched cotton canvas.
