This face just makes me feel so calm when I look at her. She is full of kindness and grace. I sponsor a little girl in Africa who was orphaned. She is 14 and had a terrible life before she was found on the street and taken into the safety of the orphanage. They provide food, shelter and schooling along with the change to make friends with others who have found themselves in such desperate circumstances. This painting is in honour of her and how she has overcome the pain of her past and is growing into a beautiful, smart, talented woman. This is how I imagine her when she is older. I hope with all of my heart it comes true.
This is in my personal style mixing abstract marks with recognisable elements to draw the eye in. Acrylic and collage on cradled wood panel.
